After an unforgettable celebration of the life and impact of Rafael Viñoly at Carnegie Hall in November 2023, which also served as the Foundation’s launch event, we are now shifting gears to build out our programs. The Viñoly Foundation works to elevate public life through the transformative power of architecture, urban planning, education, the arts, and science.
Guided by Rafael Viñoly’s conviction that every building project affects the public realm, our plan is to help communities recognize and demand excellence in architecture.

Our launch event, A Musical Celebration of the Life of Rafael Viñoly, included performances by The Philadelphia Orchestra, violinist Itzhak Perlman, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s the Isaiah Thompson Trio, and pianist Jonathan Biss playing Beethoven’s “Emperor” Concerto on the Maene Viñoly concert grand piano, a Rafael Viñoly project.
